In a city where protests and marches against the current administration are now a traffic stopping, don't-even-think-about-taking-your-normal-route-walking-home inconvenience, dime a dozen, it's good to be Hillary Clinton. What's it like as the one that got away? Well, let's just say her days are quite full pleasing the liberal masses - posing for photos, smiling for selfies, giving talks at The Wing, royally waving while an entire restaurant gives you a standing ovation just for walking in the door.
Oh yeah. Standing ovations. A month or so back, Hillary received just that while out on a business/personal/who knows dinner with her daughter Chelsea, Chelsea’s husband, and media mogul / Diane von Furstenberg's husband, Barry Diller. The location of said oddly filled table? Murray Hill restaurant Upland.
And it seems Hill was pretty into it, returning again for the third time just a few days ago - this time with her more familiar date, Bill. So, why Upland? Well, perhaps she's just copying Barack. After all, the former President has dined at the Park Avenue place multiple times over the years. So needless to say, if you're looking for a democratic photo op, your odds of running into either of them are pretty good here.
It was a great night welcoming President Clinton and Madam Secretary Clinton to Upland last night in New York.
