Outstanding Baker: Jim Lahey of Sullivan St. Bakery
Though Jim Lahey initially started out studying architecture, we're so glad that he switched his attentions to baking. After studying bread making in Italy, Lahey opened the first Sullivan St. Bakery in Soho in 1994. The bakery is now headquartered in Hell's Kitchen and has a second outpost in Chelsea. Though known for its heavenly bread, the Roman-style pizza and rustic Italian pastries shouldn't be missed!
