While the entire restaurant industry faced challenges this past year and change, it's been a particularly bumpy road for Jonathan Waxman's beloved farm-to-table Italian spot Barbuto. After shuttering the glass-paneled garage location it occupied for 15 years back in May 2019, the West Village staple celebrated its long-awaited return at its new location in late February of 2020. We all know what happened next...
The restaurant was open for less than a month before being forced to close its doors yet again due to COVID.
Now, more than a year (and one cookbook) later, Barbuto is finally making its (second) comeback and this time, it's here to stay.
Waxman, his team, and, thankfully, his famed roast chicken with salsa verde, will officially return to Barbuto's new address at 113 Horatio Street, located just steps away from the original. The eatery will be open on Saturday, October 9th for walk-ins only, though reservations are now open for seats starting on October 13th.
All hail the roast chicken gods!
