Central Park's Tavern On The Green Is Officially Reopening!

by Stephanie Maida · April 8, 2021

New York City is starting to feel like its old self again.

After closing its doors over a year ago due to COVID, Manhattan's landmark restaurant Tavern on the Green will officially reopen on April 29th. The news comes a month after another Central Park favorite, the Loeb Boathouse, announced its return. Looks like we'll have plenty of reasons to visit this summer!

The iconic eatery has been a celebrity and society staple since its opening in 1934. It will welcome guests back into its rustic-glam indoor dining room at 50 percent capacity, and will have live music in its sprawling outdoor courtyard.

Diners will be able to celebrate the comeback with a new seasonal menu by award-winning chef Bill Peet and, of course, plenty of cocktails.

For those who want to snag some bites and booze for a luxe picnic spread in the park, a new "to-go" window will also be available, serving up wraps, charcuterie, and a full selection of beer, wine, and cocktails.

Cheers to that - and to the return of a classic!
