Retro cool style meets new school cuisine at Gab's, the West Village's colorful new dining destination from industry vet Gabby Madden.

With a nod to 1970s design (think sunken living room vibes), the cozy 60-seat space is decked out with orange banquettes, funky glassware, and personal touches that make the place feel like a dinner party at Gabby's house, from her own artwork lining the walls to a mosaic of broken plates salvaged from her family home. At the intimate front bar, glossy marble and exposed brick are paired with quirky tiled accents and original terrazzo flooring uncovered at the property, which dates back to 1910. Design-wise, this place is as fun as they come.

And food-wise? Well, it won't disappoint. Chef Nate Ashton (former Chef de Cuisine at MIMI) helms the kitchen, whipping up hyper-seasonal new American dishes with a focus on sustainable and farm-sourced ingredients. Menu highlights include the Uni Tartlet, Celeriac Dauphinoise (prepared with thin slices of celery root and potato), and, naturally, the signature Gab's Burger, served with melted gouda, guajillo catsup, and black garlic mustard on a housemade potato bun.

Wash it all down with seasonal twists on classic sips conceived by beverage director Jonathan Borin, including the Grandma Moses (blended scotch, apple cider, cinnamon, and amaro), Miss Moneypenny (his take on the Vesper martini), and the O'Keefe, a margarita-esque cocktail with tequila Blanco, grapefruit, lime and fennel.
