Not About Standing In Line For Ice Cream? Just Hit Up These Restaurants Instead

Summer in the city means many things - least exciting of which? Down the block lines for ice cream and gelato.

For those interested in securing their scoop sometime before fall, might we suggest hitting up one of the below restaurants for your next sugar fix?

    MONKEY BAR
No meal at Monkey Bar is complete without a Banana Split Sundae. Vanilla gelato, foster sauce and sugar tuile circled round by a sophisticated roulette wheel of candies.

    MEL'S
Come for the pizza, stay for the full menu of gelato sundaes. Chocolate Chip Cookie, Tricolore Stracciatella, Cannoli, Dirty Chai Latte and Strawberry Rhubarb Pie - how the hell are you supposed to pick just one?

    BARBUTO
The Roasted Marshmallow Gelato is every bit as gooey, decadent and delicious as you'd imagine. They've also an Apricot Crostata that they roll a big scoop of honey gelato on top of. That is a real chef's  kiss moment as well.

    SHUKETTE
Tahini Soft Serve!? With halva floss, hazelnut and pomegranate?!!

    PARM
There are ice cream cakes, and then there are Ice Cream Cakes.

While the S'mores version is a knockout, we're all about the classic Neapolitan tricolor moment.

I mean, that bed of chocolate cookie dust crispies!

    RAOUL'S
Vanilla ice cream's fine and all, but sandwiched in between profiteroles it's suddenly far more interesting, no?

    ABC KITCHEN
Speaking of sundaes, have you tried the Caramel Popcorn Sundae at ABC Kitchen?

    Because it is divine!

    POLO BAR
Ralph's Coffee Ice Cream with dark chocolate shortbread cookies.

    CLAUD
Root beer ice cream isn't quite for me, but if that's what floats your boat, get thee to Claud for a most indulgent scoop.

    LILIA
Vanilla & chocolate soft serve gelato, on the dessert menu every night and available in the caffé to go. All about keeping it simple.

    KING
It's impossible to get bored of Soho culinary phenomenon King - they change their whole menu every day. When it comes to their ice cream flavors, expect haute, rustic, homemade flavors like anise hyssop, honey lavender, strawberries and cream, or sour cherry and crème fraîche.
