The hottest hospitality groups in New York right now are... car companies? Now there's a U-turn we didn't see coming.

Joining the ranks of Intersect by Lexus, the restaurant, lounge, and art gallery space conceptualized by the Japanese automobile brand, is Genesis House, a new car, culture, and culinary hub that hopes to serve as a "sophisticated oasis" in the Meatpacking District (just down the street from Intersect, in fact).

The swanky destination comes from Genesis, the luxury arm of South Korea's Hyundai Motor Group. Designed by Seoul-based Architect firm and Interior Studio, Suh Architects, the 45,000-square-foot space showcases Korean culture, community, technology, design, and, most importantly, food.

In addition to (wait for it) a library nook curated by Assouline, a cellar theater and event venue, LED stage, outdoor terrace garden, tea pavilion and lounge by Arumjigi, and, of course, upscale automobile showroom, Genesis House also boasts the first international outpost of Onjium, a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant from Seoul.

Already generating a ton of foodie buzz, Onjium at Genesis House is helmed by chefs Eun Hee Cho and Park Sungbae and serves up innovative, modern twists on traditional Korean Royal cuisine which dates back to the 1300s. Guests are invited to eat their way through Korean history inside the dramatic wood-accented dining room, flanked by large floor-to-ceiling windows and a semi-open kitchen.
