Lafayette's New Private Chalet Village Is The Perfect Winter Dining Spot

by Guest of A Guest · January 1, 2021

Long gone are the days of waiting desperately to snag a reservation at a place just because of the food. Now, the only question on everyone's mind is, "How warm is it?"

As restaurants around the city rush to further upgrade their al fresco COVID setups, a few names are inching their way ahead of the pack, keeping customers warm and cozy and well fed.

    The latest? Lafayette.

Nestled in Noho, the French cafe has just unveiled their outdoor village of private heated snow chalets, and we can already tell they are going to be THE place to socially distance see and be seen this season.

Brunch, dinner, even a little fondue fête if you're feeling so inclined - the charming little alpine glass pods are the absolute ideal dining setup. God knows they're made all the more perfect compared to spots around town which have opted for totally shut off spaces that feature horrible, harsh, fluorescent-esque lighting (cough, cough, Carbone...). Or the places that built private pods but have these huge door openings that keep the heaters from ever actually being able to get you warm.

Rest assured, Lafayette's chalets are bright and have doors that close! So yeah, this place is going to be pretty popular.
