Following a pop-up tour that took them everywhere from the Lower East Side to Austin, Texas, Libertine has finally landed at it's full-time, debut home in the West Village.
Perched on the corner of Christopher and Greenwich, this buzzy French bistro boasts easy, casual vibes and an impressive, sophisticated menu.
Driven by the very French philosophy of cuisine du marché - greenmarket-guided cooking highlighting the best of the countryside's bounty - the 46-seat restaurant serves up rich, classic dishes with a twist. Oeufs Mayo, Monkfish À La Normande, and perhaps the pièce-de-résistance, Lobster Chou Farci (a lobster and fish mousse-stuffed cabbage that sings both on and off the plate).
For those looking to indulge further, there's an all natural French wine list and cocktails made with small batch French spirits which ought to do the trick.
Curious to see which plate strikes your fancy?
