The Café District

Le District The first and last district you'll encounter on your visit is Le Cafe District, which smells of everything sweet - of coffee brewing, crepes cooking, and chocolate, well, sitting. And though it's the first section you walk through on your way in, we definitely recommend you save stopping off at this heavenly arrondissement for the end of your trip. Firstly, there's the coffee counter - serving up your caffeine fix in black to-go cups so chic you'll be carrying them around even after they're empty. Though as chic as they may be, they won't hold your attention too long as just a few feet away is the Patisserie. For those weak souls such as us, take heed before you too find your trip bookended with an at first harmless salted butter caramel macaroon and later deadly coffee eclair. Next to this refrigerated case of temptation is the Creperie - serving up a menu of savory and sweet classics. Place your order Starbucks style with the cashier, and then head down the line to watch that delicate, French magic touch at work. Spinning, filling, and folding your crepe from the pan straight to your hands. Last but certainly certainly not least, there is La Cure Gourmande. Basically, it's like an old world Swiss chocolatier exploded in here. Barrels of nougats, caramels, colorful choupettes. Stacks and stacks of cookies. Buckets of chocolate olives... (still waiting for confirmation on how literally we are to take that name). Pick up a sweet tin of chocolates as a gift, or put together a fun basket of loose treats.
