Dining at Atera is all about getting in touch with mother nature. From the dark, wood-paneled interiors to the dense, green foliage lining an entire wall, to the rustic and visceral plates, a dinner here is an entire sensory experience. The restaurant's executive chef Matthew Lightner is a Portland native, having won accolades as Best New Chef at a place there called Castagna. At Atera, Lightner sticks to his roots with plates that embrace the elements and our natural surroundings, presenting simple ingredients in unexpected and ingenious ways that delight the senses yet trick the mind. The 22 course menu here will set you back $150, but it'll be an experience you won't soon forget.
