Even the harshest critics of touristy, chintzy Tavern On The Green will be hard-pressed to not get a little nostalgic at the final pictures of the restaurant interior, before it's dismantled. The Tavern was definitely an iconic part of New York, even if it was one that everyone avoided. Now, a few lucky (and eccentric?) fans will be able to own pieces from the meticulously decorated restaurant, at a bankruptcy auction scheduled for January 13.It's sad to think that not even the extravagant parties held there as of late were enough to save Tavern. What must-stop tourist restaurant will possibly be able to take it's place? Sadly, Bubba Gump Shrimp and Max Brenner's seem to be the only possible contenders....
