"Vive Pommes Frites!" Good news for drunken snackers in New York - today Pommes Frites reopens and rejoices in its oily, starchy goodness. For 18 years the Belgian-style staple stood in the East Village, but was lost last year in the wake of the deadly explosion that rocked the neighborhood and crumbled the block. But New Yorkers are notorious for rebuilding bigger and better from the ashes, and owners Suzanne Levinson and Omer Shorshi have been busy doing just that.
Its new location at 128 Macdougal street may be across town, but it's still ideal for those late night drunchies.
