Bringing a taste of Australia's coastal towns to the heart of Williamsburg, Isla & Co. made its debut this week in a sunny and stylish space adjacent to The William Vale.
The upscale yet relaxed concept is an offshoot of Aussie brasserie Isla at Manhattan's Hotel Hendricks, from the team behind the Hole in the Wall restaurants, The Sentry, Daintree, and Ghost Burger.
Boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, sleek industrial accents, and live greenery, Isla & Co. is sure to become a go-to for the trendy Brooklyn set, embracing the Australian-style all-day café vibes for brunch and serving up a sexy atmosphere, along with serious eats, come dinnertime.
The vibrant dishes from executive chef Matt Foley, which also pull inspiration from Europe and South East Asia, showcase seasonal produce, prime cuts of meat, and fresh seafood. Expect healthy "brekkie" classics for brunch every day of the week, as well as elevated dinner fare including charred octopus, oysters, spicy shrimp vodka rigatoni, and seriously melt-in-your-mouth braised short ribs. There's also the Isla & Co. Burger, which is available on both the daytime and dinner menus.
Wash it all down with a selection of creative cocktails like the minty King's Cup, made with Milagro Tequila, Branca Menta, lime, ginger beer, mint, and cassis or their "cheeky" take on a Negroni, with Isolation Proof Gin, rhubarb amaro, Campari, and Maidenii Classic Vermouth.
Also offering outdoor patio seating in a prime people-watching setting, it's the ideal neighborhood spot for springtime dining.
