Pizza with a side of sashimi?!
Here's your answer to the age-old conundrum of whether to get Japanese or Italian for dinner.
This month, you can indulge in the best of both worlds thanks to Underground Sushi's limited time pop-up at Williamsburg's Italian hot spot, Ainslie.
Nobuhiro Hamazaki, the celebrated former Executive Sushi Chef from Koi, is debuting his newest sushi concept at the tri-level eatery and beer garden, where his selection of upscale Japanese bites will be available alongside Chef John DeLucie's Italian comfort food classics like pizza, pasta, and arancini.
Through March 22nd, diners can feast on salmon ceviche and tuna tataki sashimi, fresh seafood tacos, crispy rice, and a selection of rolls including the specialty Ainslie Roll made with prosciutto, flame-torched mozzarella, and avocado - the perfect fusion of Italian and Japanese flavors.
The unexpected (but totally delicious) partnership is a prelude to Underground Sushi's subterranean takeover of Ainslie's upcoming sister location on the Bowery, set to open this spring.
Until then, head to Brooklyn to enjoy the culinary hybrid we didn't know we needed!
