Drinks First also hosts events around town. What goes into these events? Why is it important for you to bring the Drinks First community together in person?
The Drinks First events have been so much fun! I started by hosting a panel and a live blind date (with TikTok star glamdemon2004 and an all-star panel of dating experts/Drinks First guests Jonah Feingold, Lindsey Metselaar, Isaac Hindin-Miller, and Iman Hariri-Kia) at Ludlow House just for the Soho House community, and it went so well that I was able to do another event at Soho House that involved a cocktail making competition for members followed by a party open to the Drinks First community (with more events to come!). I've done an event with mixer brand Avec at Short Stories that was our version of a stoplight party (stickers that were red, green, and yellow to denote relationship status), and an intimate singles dinner for 14 people with drinks brand Ditto that involved games and great food and drinks.
These have been amazing because Drinks First events are curated to host some of the most eligible singles in NYC of all genders/sexualities. To see my community come together in person has been such a testament to getting off our phones, and connecting with people IRL. I personally pick the guest list of every event to ensure its success and make sure there are the proper ratios and amount of people for a good time. My goal is for people to associate Drinks First with dating, without having to explicitly say "Hey this is a singles event, come and mix!" We're taking the cringe out of being single and creating spaces for real connection, whether romantic or platonic.
