Last year, we attended the 101st birthday of Bernie Bierman, who has been a New Yorker since 1908. The party was one of the sweetest, coolest events ever, and we haven't been able to get Bernie out of our minds ever since. Well, look who just turned 102!-
Move over Zelda Kaplan, here's another senior citizen who can party with the best of them! Last year, Bernie's party went til about 11--not bad for someone who received his AARP card years before Mad Men takes place.
The party took place at the Knickerbocker, and Bernie's friends, cohorts and fans all made the yearly pilgrimage to the celebrate Bernie's extraordinary life.
An interesting sidenote: these pictures were taken by fashion photographer Hanuk Hanuk, who stumbled on the party while dining at The Knickerbocker himself.
