Subway fights can be brutal. You never know what is going to happen, and usually the best and easiest tactic is to duck and cover. But one brave man single-handedly ended a vicious brawl between a man and woman punching, kicking, and clawing at each other on the 6 train by simply snacking on some chips. Check out the video of "Snackman" after the jump:
The man has been identified as Charles Sonder, and he is a designer at a Lower East Side architecture firm. And we love him.
After boarding the 6 train at around 9 p.m. at Spring street a couple of weeks ago while bar hopping he encountered the fight and calmly eased the situation with his presence and chips
He told DNA Info,
"That's when I stepped between them and just stood there," said Sonder, who was eating cheddar Pringles and a bag of Gummi bears at the time. "I didn't think of anything else to do."
His reason?
"I didn't want them to accidentally hit anyone on the train," he said.
The video of Snackman saving the day went viral, gaining over 500,000 hits on YouTube by Monday, making him the unofficial hero of NYC.
