Located 28 miles from Amsterdam, Utrecht is just as fun, but without the crowds. Although smaller than the capital, the medieval city is rich with history and culture. There are still plenty of canals to see and bikes to ride. Utrecht is known for its iconic 14th century bell tower called Domtoren. It's 465 steps to get to the top - sounds like a great leg day!
