Cannes At Night: Party At The Hotel Du Cap

The De Grisgono Party, held last night at the Hotel Du Cap was the most lavish Cannes party yet. Will.I.Am DJ'd, and British pop star Cheryl Cole was reportedly paid a staggering 250,000 pounds for a 30 minute performance. Rachel Bilson, Lionel Richie, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Meg Ryan, Naomi Campbell, and Kelly Rowlands were among the American celebrities who attended this poshest of  European events.-

Just to give you a sense of setting, the picture at left is of the grounds of the Hotel du Cap, Eden Roc, where many of the film festival's hottest parties, including the De Grisgono party, are held. Except I'm sure it's even less seedy in person. Rooms start at 670 Euro a night, which is pretty reasonable for a one night stay in HEAVEN.

Guests at last night's event started the evening with a cocktail by the pool, pictured below, which looks out over the sea.

Afterwards, it was to the terrace for dinner....

Finally, the party headed indoors, where Cheryl Cole took to the stage, after which surprise performer Will.I.Am takes over. Guests dance until dawn (literally--the sun was coming up when the last of them retired to the VIP room...) and sleepily headed up to their Louis XVI suites.

Elsewhere, at the Palais Stephanie, Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling celebrated their movie, Blue Valentine. (The Palais isn't exactly the Motel Six, either....)
