Sandy Hook beach is the perfect location for a day at the beach. Sandy Hook is great for those who like nature as it features a two mile pathway which is great for running or biking. If you have a car, then you can reach the beach in about an hour and a half. A car would also allow you to explore the next town over, Highlands. In Highlands you will find lots of restaurants and bars with outdoor dining to enjoy the summer nights. No car? A ferry is available from Manhattan to Sandy Hook which also cuts your travel time in half. Although there is no entrance fee, there is a $15 parking fee.
