And no, I'm not just saying this because I am in fact writing this dispatch from Oaxaca as we speak. But I can tell you after just one day's worth of exploring that this colorful, lively city should be a go-to for party people. After all, its most famous export is Mezcal (and the locals won't let you forget it). But it's not all about the agave; Oaxaca is home to rich creative traditions like textile-making, and the global art world is finally giving it the recognition it deserves.
