Bhutan

Punakha ValleyThere is a reason why Bhutan always tops the list as the world’s happiest nation. The Buddhist nation bordered by India and Nepal, features some of the most stunning scenery in the world, including stunning views of the Himalayan mountain range. Everything about this country is an adventure, from the landing on a runway snugly tucked away in a valley 7,500 feet above sea level, to the staggering hike up to Tiger’s Nest, the cliff-side monastery which literally hangs off the edge of a summit over 10,200 feet above sea level! For those who are afraid of heights, colorful temples in the Punakha Valley region built centuries back, such as the Temple of the Divine Madman, are a great alternative to experience a low-intensity hike and culture of the country.
