You Can Attend A Wine & Yoga Retreat In An Italian Castle This Fall

by Grace Gill · September 1, 2016

Eat, sip, breathe, repeat. Do you like Italian pasta? Do you like Italian wine? Do you like Italian men? Do you like looking saucy in your Lululemon leggings? If you answered yes to all of the above then we have the perfect weekend getaway for you. You'll do sun salutations by the pool, learn how to cook risotto with master chef Roberto Rossi, hike among the olive trees and take spa trips to the ancient outdoor thermal baths at Bagno-Vignoni.

At Castello di Pontentino, a real medieval castle in Tuscany, your priorities are perfecting your downward dog, becoming a master pasta chef and a certified sommelier. While there are plenty of other wine-and-yoga trips that exist, this is the world's first certified wine and yoga retreat because you'll actually leave with something other than toned glutes. Upon completion, you will walk away with an official WSET Level 1 wine certification thanks to lessons from the esteemed former River Cafe sommelier, which in other words is globally recognized proof of your wino-skills.

Put together by Charlotte Horton and Alexander Green, the trip is designed as part of a program called Study of the Senses. If for some reason you're not enticed by 5 days of wine drinking while overlooking the Tuscan landscape (literally who are you), then they have other programs centered around Rococo chocolate.

You'll do yoga by the pool, led by Yogi and teacher Nadia Steward, and watch sunsets in the magical valley of Potentino, known locally as the Golden Bowl. Food and wellness retreats are the new juice cleanse, so rather than hopping on a bike at SoulCycle, hop on a plane to Italy. We promise you won't want to come home.

Prices range from £1,250 - £2,000 and include: Transfer to and from Pisa Airport; full board including wines and lodging at the castle for four nights; daily morning yoga practice with Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher Nadia Steward; daily wine sessions and food workshops; WSET Level 1 course material and certificate. And all trips and tastings outside of the castle.

The wine and yoga retreat runs from October 14 to 17. Visit www.cellarstylist.co.uk for more information.
