SynchroSwim 2013
We would write this art event off as adults finding an excuse to swim in costumes in front of an audience....but this SynchroSwim 2013 event is sponsored by the Washington Project for the Arts and is actually too legitimate to ignore. Arvind Manocha, President and CEO of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts; Scott Simon, Peabody Award-winning host of NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday; and Molly Smith, Artistic Director of Arena Stage will judge the synchronized swimming routines of several art-backed teams on Saturday, August 3 at 5pm. Admission is free.
"The judges will rank the teams on a scale of 1 to 10 in two categories: Execution (the skill and coherence of their performance) and Visual Spectacle (the outrageousness of the team’s costumes and performance)."
