FNO Georgetown: What you missed

by Sophie Pyle · September 12, 2011

Yeah, it was pretty rainy...so rainy, that no one wanted to get their bottoms wet on those pedi-cab seats!

Fewer people than expected turned out for the 100+ parties that dotted M Street and Wisconsin Avenues for Fashion\'s Night Out on Friday, September 8, but some braved the rain for a chance at steep shopping discounts, free cocktails and bites, gift bags and giveaways.

There was a lot of fashion to take in....

Many Washingtonians took the evening as an opportunity to show off their best "rain chic" looks, which typically included a pair of Hunter Boots and a spunky umbrella. Speaking of Hunter Boots, they\'ve got some pretty cool shoes and boots this season, as highlighted by What2WearWhere.com.

The rain kept the lines at Georgetown Cupcake away! We grabbed two of their free FNO Red Velvet cupcakes on our way to the party at O Salon...

Guillaume Choquet, right; Soner Ozbay, right

Those guys can throw a party. O Salon owners Guillaume Choquet and Soner Ozbay invited their favorite clients to their new (since June) salon location at 3212 O Street. The salon has styled the hairs upon many high-profile Washingtonians\' heads since it first opened ten years ago.

DJ Natty Rico mixed some strong techno beats with--get this--LIVE SAXOPHONE! And a live electric guitar! It sounded so cool and everyone was dancing. His music played from the beginning, through the hair fashion show, on until the end of the O Salon bash. REAL HOUSEWIVES AT FNO!

Stars from Bravo\'s Real Housewives of D.C. were not stopped by the rain! We saw Mary Schmidt Amons at the VIP Pre-Party at L2, and Lynda Erkiletian with beau Ebong Eka at the Intermix FNO party. Mary was stunning in a glittery mini-dress from Banana Republic, and Lynda hosted T.H.E. Artist Agency employees for dinner at Peacock Cafe at the end of the night. Did we spy one of Mary\'s many children leading a gaggle of gal pals from store to store? She was moving too fast for us to snap a pic. Paul Wharton was also at L2.

That party at L2, sponsored by Capitol File Magazine, was stuffed with VIPs...

....and the gift bags were stuffed with things I actually like!

...like HOBO accessories! Georgetown-branded stationery and really nice aluminum Georgetown-branded beverage bottles! Kiehl\'s samples! Definitely worth getting wet for!

And last but not least...it\'s not a Fashion\'s Night Out without someone being named "best dressed." This award, hands down, goes to Kelly Collis. She looked stunning in a Rag & Bone dress paired with a sparkly Lauren Merkin clutch at L2. Remind us again why she is in radio and not on TV?
