Throwback Thursday: Jacqueline Kennedy Runs Errands In Georgetown

by Sophie Pyle · February 28, 2013

Before JFK was president, he was a senator kicking it in Georgetown with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy. Jackie's occupation at this time was a devoted housewife, making John's breakfast and taking his clothes to the dry cleaners.

Here, she goes through her morning routine and the inside of their Georgetown brownstone for Arlene Francis, host of "Home," which ran for an hour on NBC in the late 1950's. This charming clip is from 1957 (and is not recommended for easily offended feminists!). It really shows a sweet side of Jackie and what life was like in their first year in Georgetown together. She is 27 years old here.
