Pennsylvania 6
What: Pennsylvania 6
Where: 1350 I St NW, Washington, DC
Why we love it: After great success in both Philly and Manhattan, Pennsylvania 6 has come to DC offering a nice alternative from your run of the mill steak house that is so common in the K Street area. With lively and detailed decor by DC's uber-interior designer Maggie O'Neill and her team at Swatch Room the restaurant offers a feast for all of your senses.
In addition to private sitting and dining areas, the restaurant features a large bar with TV screens for game viewing while sipping signature house cocktails like the Belgian Mule (white whiskey, ginger beer,
strawberry lambic, lime) and the Grapes of Wrath (bourbon, muddled brandied grapes and grapefruit,
house grapefruit liqueur, aromatic bitter).
The restaurant boasts the top raw bar in DC as well as delicious dishes including dry aged beef carpaccio with shaved celery, violet mustard, crispy shallots and grana padano; Louisiana Fried Oysters with hot & sour sauce and herb aioli; Fresh Ricota with olive oil, black pepper, thyme and orange-fig jam; Berkshire Pork Chop with sweet potato, candied pecans, fried brussels sprouts and bourbon lacquer; Lamb Shoulder Ragout with shaved crimini mushroom salad, rigatoncini pasta and aged goat cheese; a variety of steaks and more.
