A dashing Spanish duke and his longtime love said "I do" this weekend, in the presence of 750 international socialites and royals - including Queen Sofia of Spain.
Held at Liria Palace in Madrid (an impressive 18th century estate belonging to the groom's family), the wedding of Fernando Fitz-James Stuart, the Duke of Huéscar and heir to the Dukedom of Alba, and the effortlessly chic Sofia Palazuelo Barroso (who's worked in communications at both Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera in NYC), was a romantic affair that could easily rival both Will and Harry's big days.
Wearing traditional military regalia, the Duke looked like a regular Prince Charming, while his bride was all the more elegant in a simple white gown designed by her aunt, Teresa Palazuelo, and a dramatic cape complete with train. A feathered headpiece complemented her low bun hairstyle, adding a bit of flair.
The newlyweds kicked off the evening with a waltz, then partied alongside guests (including Spanish noble and fashion designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada) well past the invite's midnight curfew. Unsurprising, considering the estate's fountains were filled with bottles of champagne.
