New York Public Library
Fictional trendsetter Carrie Bradshaw planned her "Big" day at the New York Public Library, and it's easy to see why: the National Historic Landmark's soaring ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and chiseled literary lions make it one of the most august event locations in the city.
And while the books are free to borrow, this novel venue isn't -- reservations can go higher than $50,000 for the premium package, though some spaces are more reasonable than others. The capacious Astor Hall, for example, can fit 700 guests for cocktails, while a seated dinner in the Princess Firyal Map Division holds an intimate 45. It all depends on how Carrie-d away you get with the guest list.
