90 Seconds Of Fame: Be A Part Of MoMa's Warhol Exhibit

by Mara Siegler · December 22, 2010

Been dreaming of having your work displayed at MoMA since you were a wee creative and mildly eccentric youngster? Now it can be a reality! The museum is offering a chance for the public to be a part of the new Andy Warhol: Motion Pictures exhibition. Your fifteen minutes are mere moments away.

The show, which opens January 9, focuses on Warhol's screen tests and will allow people to upload their own 90 second video to the web site to be mixed in with footage of Edie Sedgwick, Nico, Allen Ginsberg, and the whole clan of Superstars.

Find inspiration by getting a drink at the Chelsea Hotel, watching Factory Girl, reading old issues of Interview magazine, making diptych prints on your Mac, and staring at Campbell's Soup cans. The videos are being moderated for appropriateness, so even though you and all your friends swear that rolling around naked in a vat of jello to death metal is indeed art, I would save that for when you have your own show in the hallowed halls.
