Gayil Nalls, “The Smell of a Critical Moment”
Art aficionados may turn up their noses, literally, at Doorway gallery's new exhibit, “The Smell of a Critical Moment” by Gayil Nalls, who truly captures the, well, smell of teen spirit. Nalls gave white t-shirts to 99 Occupy Wall Street protesters, and told them not to wash the shirts for a week. Now on display, the smelly shirts have become the unlikely banners of a revolution, and are a commentary on "sanitation," one of the alleged reasons for the Zucotti Park police raids. Through February 11 at Doorway Gallery, 62 Van Duzer St., Staten Island. For more information, go HERE. [Photo via]
