This weekend, pro-surfer/curator/LOLA-compadre Trip Patterson is putting on his first one-man show, "A Solo Exhibition," featuring fourteen oils on canvas from the well respected Latin American painter Felix Bonilla Gerena. Bonilla's paintings are vibrantly colored abstracts, full of thick daubs and swirls -picture a mash of Van Gogh, Monet, and early Picasso together, stretched.
The show's opening reception is Saturday, from 5-8 at Collette's Antique Barn (2546 Montauk Hwy, Bridgehampton), followed by a dinner with the artist at One Ocean (one of Trip's favorite restaurants). Even if you're not a huge fan of abstract painting, we promise that the crowd alone will be worth checking out. See you there!
