Berry Oatmeal Crisp
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1 tablespoon cornstarch (for the crisp)
7 1/2 cup fresh berries, seasonal berries of your choice (for the crisp)
1 cup sugar (for the crisp)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for the crisp)
1/2 cup all purpose flour (for the topping)
1/4 cup sugar (for the topping)
1/2 cup light brown sugar (for the topping)
1/2 cup rolled oats (for the topping)
1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped (for the topping)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for the topping)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for the topping)
LET'S GET COOKING!
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Combine the crisp ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Pour into a ceramic casserole dish. For the topping, combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well with your hands until crumbly. Sprinkle over the top of the fruit. Bake 45 minutes, or until the crumbs are brown and beginning to bubble. Cool for 2 hours before serving.
