Hamptons Free Ride Cruises Over To Montauk

by Chelsea Burcz · June 7, 2012

Hamptons Free Ride is back again this summer, and this year they're hitting the road in Montauk. Just as the name implies, the free electric shuttle, started last year by locals James Mirras and Alex Esposito, drives people around town and to the beach for completely free of cost.

And with new sponsors, including Zappos, Heineken, East End Tick Control, Flywheel Sports, and Royal Botania, this means more free stuff for the riders ranging from Vita Cocos and frisbees, to discount cards and nail polish. According to co-founder, Alex Esposito, "We're really trying to hook our passengers up with a lot of free stuff this year."

A free ride and free stuff.

"Free" is the business model these boys have been sticking with says Esposito, "Putting your brand in someones hands is really the best way to market; the advertisement keeps reoccurring, and people really like free stuff. The consumer's state of mind is often overlooked when advertising. Who wants to look at a billboard when they're stuck in traffic."
