The Surf Lodge Trades Montauk For The Rocky Mountains, Opening Up The Snow Lodge

by Christie Grimm · December 24, 2019

Can you believe that Surf Lodge has been the hottest spot out East for 11 years? Time sure does fly when you're waiting in line for the bathroom. For 11 years the Fort Pond oasis has been a hip person's Brigadoon, magically appearing for just four or so months each year. Well for all you beach bunnies turned snowbirds, your party dreams have officially come true - Surf Lodge has just opened its second permanent location! Welcome to The Snow Lodge in Aspen, where the Rocky Mountains meets Montauk.

Expect to see Owner and Creative Director Jayma Cardoso both on the slopes and off, scoping out the best local talent to keep up the brands ahead-of-the-curve reputation when it comes to music, art, fashion and food.

For the interiors, Jayma has partnered with fellow Montauk tastemaker Bob Melet of Melet Mercantile (that amazing shop nestled in Crow's Nest where through some sort of witchcraft you're always charmed into making one of their beaded bracelets) to create the perfect après-ski atmosphere. And for the food, familiar face Chef Robert Seiber is ditching Ditch Plains and heading West as well, working under the guidance of Culinary Director Chef Sean Olnowich to whip up the best fresh, local fare Colorado has to offer.

And but of course, since this is The Surf Lodge after all, you know there's going to be music. You can be sure we'll be sharing their schedule as soon as it drops. Fingers crossed Aspen is way cooler when it comes to live music than Montauk! But seriously, has there ever been a better reason to skip skiing altogether and just get to the fun stuff?

    See you there!
