The London Look: Jana Hofheimer Daniel

by Guest of A Guest · June 18, 2024

Having spent over ten years at Moda Operandi doing the lord's work, curating the site's range of luxury designer pieces as a Buyer in New York, Jana Hofheimer Daniel has settled into London life quite swimmingly. These days she's out on her own, helping fashion brands and e-commerce sites figure out what's what. Oh and you know, on the side, she's studying for her black belt in karate while starting a new business...

Curious where you'll find this Londoner out and about, what she counts as her greatest extravagance or the top places she hits for an afternoon of shopping?

    North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii, USA.

    What brought you to London?
    Boyfriend-now-husband.

How long have you been here?
    Nearly four years.

What neighborhood do you call home?
    W8.

The black truffle ones at Whole Foods.

    Preferred pub?
My friend's little-known spot in Notting Hill called The Pelican.

    Tube or Boris bike?
Both. I love the Tube; it feels like a luxury liner coming off of 10+ years riding the Subway in NYC daily. And I always - weather permitting - take a Lime bike through Hyde Park when I need to get to Mayfair or Marylebone.

    Tesco or Sainsbury's?
    ...Waitrose.

    Weekend getaway trip?
    The Bull, Charlbury, Oxford.

    Favorite restaurant?
    Zephyr on Portobello Road.

    Keep calm and carry on.

With a heaping dollop of oat milk.

    Most British thing about you?
    I love a bath and a cuppa.

    Least British thing about you?
I'm an Aries sun, Scorpio moon, Gemini rising...

    Remedy for a rainy day?
A good trench coat... and a bath and a cuppa.

First thing you miss when you leave London?
    The civility.

Private Members Clubs - yay or nay?
    Not nay.

Where in town are you almost always?
    K&C.

Where in town would you never be caught dead?
I wish I could say Chiltern, but it's simply not true!

Best place for a fun night out?
    Fabric. Or Lucky Voice.

How would you describe your style?
    I'm a uniform dresser.

    Top shopping spots?
    Portobello Road, Marylebone high street.

The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

What are you most excited for next?
