Michael Brunswick: 79th Organ
Canadian Michael Brunswick uses a unique process (which you can take a peek at his video
here) in applying raw pigments onto stretched canvases. In his
79th Organ exhibit, he wants viewers to be less involved with the visual displays, and focus more on the methods of the art. Brunswick
explains:
"I really value slowing things down and taking it in and really dissecting what's going on. I don't want people to walk by the paintings and say, 'Ugh, that guy. He doesn't know anything about paint,' or, 'He's selfish.' Or, 'His art's boring.' Those are things that scare me. I don't want to be that. I want to be the opposite."
