Tea Time Goes Vegan At Ladurée

by Stephanie Maida · September 23, 2019

For a meal beloved by rich, skinny white women, High Tea staples have always included a confusing amount of mayonnaise, white bread, and decidedly anti-Pilates sweets and treats. Bite-sized portions or not, it's about time tea time caught up with our dietary restrictions.

Leave it, of course, to French favorite Ladurée to make our mid-afternoon indulgences healthier, and a lot more chic. Teaming up with Chef Matthew Kenney, the world-renowned plant-based foodie and prolific restaurateur, the Parisian cafe chain famous for its pastries is fully vegging out.

Its Beverly Hills location, for one, has gone completely vegan, with a menu full of sweet and savory options, from a "Not Eggs" Benedict featuring turmeric Hollandaise and tofu ham, to cashew cream cheese finger sandwiches, and yes, even desserts and macarons.

And, Real Housewives of Elsewhere, don't fret: select creations by Kenney, such as Mushroom Pâté and Vegan Vol-au-Vent will be available on Ladurée menus across the country, including New York. Pinkies up!
