The Cicada Club

We have certainly saved the best for last. The most original venue on our list is The Cicada Club. You may have read about it in the tabloids, because it's where your favorite celebs duck in for a low key night of swing music and vintage beats. There's a big band that plays oldies, and you'll see the dance floor gets crowded early in the night with jazz and swing aficionados.
The best way to describe Cicada is that you're walking into a time machine that takes you back to the golden age of Hollywood, a Great Gatsby style atmosphere where women love to dress up, sip on bourbon and dance with hot bachelors. The big gold entry doors are a sign of things to come, as you walk into the art deco inspired room with a big stage, enormous chandeliers, and an old style bar. If you're looking for privacy and want to enjoy the music, head up the dramatic double staircase to the mezzanine where you have a great view of the band. It's really divine.
This is the supper club you want to bring your date to impress them (they serve a mean Italian dinner) and it's one of those places that makes us think L.A. still has its unique swag. Make sure you make dinner reservations because the space fills up quickly.
