OMG you guys, remember Hyde?! Did you know it still exists? A little birdie told us the long forlorn SBE nightclub you probably assumed went the way of the dinosaurs, like, three years ago will close soon to undergo what's sounding like a major renovation. Guess someone over at the Sam Nazarian camp caved and decided to put the 5-year-old former hotspot out of its misery.
Although we could die happy never stepping foot inside another one of SBE's "collection", we can say the place is in serious need of an update considering the last time it had any relevance. In what can only be explained through a miracle, Hyde has somehow remained the constant, outliving subsequent SBE creations Area and Foxtail. From beginning to end, ashes to ashes, funk to funky, we know Major Tom's a junkie...
February 17th will be the last day of Hyde Lounge as we know it. We're told it will stay closed for at least a few months while it gets its makeover. It's unclear as to what will take its place, but you can bet it will bear the hyper-trendy SBE stamp you can't miss. Times they are a-changin' and we've got our eye on you next, Geisha House!
