Ray's (and Stark Bar)
When you think about it, the idea that museum food should be as enlightening and delightful as the art it's connected to is a pretty basic, obvious concept. And yet so few of the museum-attached "cafés" even strive for more than basic edibility. Not so with Ray's at LACMA, where chef Kris Morningstar's Mediterranean inspired cuisine has been winning universal praise from day one. The menu, dedicated to fresh and in-season local produce, changes constantly, but favorites like the grilled pork spare ribs with fennel pollen and roasted apricots have made their way onto the DineLA menu, so you really can't go wrong. And while the adjoining Stark Bar isn't offering up the
prix fixe, you owe it to yourself to stop by before or after for a fresh seasonal cocktail like the Peaches N' Herb, made with mezcal, fresh peach and sage.
