Deutsche Bank Executive High On Weed & Bath Salts Tries To Fight Cops, Cops Win
Depending on your perspective, whatever happened to high-powered Deutsche Bank executive Brian C. Mulligan on the night of May 15th was either a gross abuse of police power by the LAPD, or a crazed, cracked-out rich guy finding out that there's a limit to what you can get away with. According to the official police report, Mulligan was stopped by officers while trying to open the doors of moving cars at a Jack In The Box on Eagle Rock Blvd at about 11 o'clock at night, at which point he told officers that he had ingested marijuana and "White Lightning," which is understood to be a bath salts-esque cocktail of artificial stimulants. Officers brought him to a local hotel and left him there, only to respond to another call a few hours later and find Mulligan running down the street, again trying to open car doors, at which point he attacked the cops and sustained his injuries during the arrest. In Mulligan's side of the story, he was stopped without cause after leaving a local dispensary, held captive by the police in the hotel, and suffered an unprovoked and violent beating when he tried to leave. He's suing the department for $50 million. We're not really in a position to judge the validity of this story on either side, though to give some credit to both, a) the LAPD has certainly beaten the living hell out of an undeserved victim before, and/or b) the official account sounds extremely consistent with a dude conked out on bath salts. In fact, regardless of other circumstances, let's just say right now that we don't really recommend bath salts under any circumstances. So don't blame us if you get in trouble for chowing down on some dude's face. [via]
