So how'd they get the tests?
Some good ol' wheeling and dealing, of course! According to the Miami Herald, officials of the private island worked out a deal with UHealth to obtain thousands of rapid blood-prick tests for COVID-19 - more than enough for every single resident and worker (because god forbid anyone's cleaning lady get sick) on the island.
A UHealth spokesperson told the Herald, "This is what the Fisher Island residents wanted. Our physicians ordered it for them, they paid for it themselves." Although a rep for the island did say that officials also offered to cover all the costs.
Meanwhile, throughout the rest of Florida, only about 1 percent of the population has been tested.
Must be nice to never hear the word, "No."
