Social Works

I’m really excited for the Antwaun Sargent group exhibition that opens this week. The show includes pieces by David Adjaye, Zalika Azim, Allana Clarke, Kenturah Davis, Theaster Gates, Linda Goode Bryant, Lauren Halsey and others.

Collectively and individually, these works examine the personal, public, and international idea of Black social practice. Varying in material, scale and approach to the subject matter, they each offer a “conscious engagement with today’s cultural moment.” The show promises to be bold, powerful, community building and insightful, and if you have followed Antwaun Sargent's career you know Social Works will be a show to remember.

On view at Gagosian 24th Street until August 13th.
