Art Production Fund Gives Rockefeller Center A Whimsical Makeover With This New Public Installation

by Christie Grimm · January 19, 2021

We admit, ever since the pandemic, it can be pretty easy to feel like there's not much going on around town.

But like, hey - you've totally underestimated the city that never sleeps!

There's always something exciting to see or experience around New York, and now is certainly no different.

Art Production Fund and Rockefeller Center are kicking off their third year of 'Art in Focus' with a must-see show!

The celebrated public art program has just unveiled 'In My Heart,' an amazing installation by Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist Hiba Schahbaz. Inspired by the idea of healing (which let's be real - we could all use a hefty dose of), Schahbaz's pieces feature mythological garden scenes inspired by her own personal narrative.

Posted up about 45 Rockefeller Plaza, the installation includes scenes made from painted paper cutouts and larger paper paintings, and even a 125-foot long mural designed specifically for the unique space!

Catch all of the magical pieces on display in the lightboxes at Rockefeller Plaza and on Fifth Avenue now through May 4th!
