For his first solo exhibition at Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York native Andisheh Avini turns his heritage into an impressionistic exploration of Iranian culture, history, and tradition. In a series of silk screens, marquetry paintings, and carpets, the artist utilizes the aesthetic appropriation of his ancestry to represent a relationship between the past and present.
