Karla Black at David Zwirner Gallery
After hopping off the New Museum's life-like spaceship, this upcoming exhibition at David Zwirner may seem like the surface of some unspecified planet. The pink, powdered, and cellophane piece is just a sculpture by Scottish artist Karla Black, however, though a sense of other-worldliness seems consistently present. In her first show with the gallery, Black creates a visceral environment using powder, soap, gels, and pastes that aligns itself between the interpretations of "natural" and "artificial."
