Nancy Rubins, Our Friend Fluid Metal
If anyone could make you believe in the term "fluid metal," it's Nancy Rubins, the awe-inspiring sculptor behind the latest exhibition at Gagosian Gallery this summer. Showing her large-scale work for the first time since her piece, Big Pleasure Point at Lincoln Center in 2006, Rubins combines abstract beauty and some very real structural engineering to push her 3D assemblages to the edge—while keeping them at the center of social, economic, and historical conversation.
When: Through September 13
Where: Gagosian, 522 West 21st Street
