The Blue Project at Silvana Harlem

The Blue ProjectLeave it to Jersey to find the music in a tragedy. When Hurricane Sandy left the East Coast ravaged in 2012, rebuilding was hard for everyone, especially musicians. But music producer and Garden State guitarist Danny Petroni saw the struggle as an opportunity to help revitalize the scene. He called forth the help of local musicians to produce a homegrown blues record, and thus The Blue Project was born. Combining his own rock and roll prowess with the smoky vocals of blues singer and trombonist Frank Lacy, Petroni has assembled an impressive ensemble of swinging musicians who give The Blue Project a distinctly retro, feel-good vibe, despite the sometimes heavy subject matter. Looking for a unique date idea or just a night filled with modern blues? Catch them on Thursday, July 24 at Silvana Harlem.
